Show-n-Tell

As an active group our members always have something interesting to show us at each meeting.

Show-n-Tell 9th June 2025

Busy people this week after a break for the bank holiday.
Knitted bumblebee

Waistcoat

Quilt

Judy E made this lap quilt using more of her stash of blue. This time she quilted it using various stitches available on her machine and variegated thread. She said she enjoyed doing it and it does make for a more interesting pattern.

Sara made this pen holder that fits over a diary or notebook, maybe a useful addition to Christmas stockings later!

Needle holder

This Cathedral window sewing needle holder was made by Mary, along with this lovely quilted jacket with it’s stunning cockerel appliqué.

Quilt

This week we had a very interesting exhibition of work by two members, Judy E and Margaret W.  Here are some of quilts they brought in for us to see.

One of the largest on display was this one made by Judy. Each block features a ‘vegetable cat’!

Quilt Others included this memory quilt, on the left, using material Judy bought in Amsterdam whilst on holiday. The second was a challenge to use up some of her blue material.

Quilt

This one each block features a different cat, all made individually and joined by hand.

Quilt
And this was made from some of Judy’s late husband’s shirts. He had enough for her to make five of these altogether for family members.

Quilt

Margaret brought in this, one of the first ones she made, a sample of what was to come.

Quilt

This one was a kit bought at an exhibition, her first time at foundation piecing and quite a challenge.

Quilt

Using some of her stash Margaret made this lovely flower quilt.

Other quilts on show this week were this one made by Jill T. Based on a design from the book Crumb Quilts by Emily Bailey it’s Jill’s version of Blowing in the Wind.

Quilt

Ros made this quilt using material chosen by her grandson.

Quilt

We welcomed Amanda to our group this week, she brought with her a lovely double sized quilt she had made. Starting off with a panel she said it seemed to just keep growing!

 Quilt

Anne W made this Cathedral Window wall hanging.
