On Monday 25th September representatives of the Linus Charity came to collect the quilts we had made as our group project for 2023. They also gave us a talk on how the charity works and the positive feedback they received from children who were given the quilts. It was nice to find out where the quilts went and how much they were appreciated.

Sewing day on Saturday was a bit special as it was also one of our members 80th birthday! It was a productive day too with members making blocks for quilts, cushion covers and bags.

Thanks went once more to Alison for organising the day. Always good to be able to spend a day sewing and catching up with friends.

Our Charity in 2022 was Calibre Audio who lend, free of charge, audiobooks to anyone who is print disabled. One of our members who can no longer sew uses the service and finds it really helpful.

The amount raised by the group for the charity was £445. This was raised through sales of works, raffle and donations. A cheque was sent to them in early March.

Our thanks go to all those involved in helping us raise this amount.

Our charity for 2023 will be the local Parkinson’s group.

On Saturday 14th January twelve members and a guest enjoyed a day of sewing, chat and of course coffee and cake! Once again we thank Alison for organising the day.

This year the theme seemed to be quilts and cushion covers. Some members were finishing off the tops of quilts, others quilting some lovely designs while some were making blocks to start off their latest project. 

We were all glad to meet up again for the day and look forward to the next session.
