Another successful Saturday sewing with lots of very busy people making a variety of projects.

There were bags, some destined for the WI stand at the New Forest show, quilt tops, an advent calendar (someone very organised for Christmas) and cushion covers.

The finished articles will appear on our Show and Tell pages once completed.

Our thanks once again to Alison for organising the day and providing the tea and coffee. And to Mary for the lovely Victoria sponge!

On Monday 22nd April we were pleased to welcome Alison Bolton the representative from the local New Forest branch of Parkinson's Uk to collect a cheque for £400, the total raised by us in 2023.

This group welcomes anyone who's life is affected by Parkinson's in any way, either as a patient, family member, carer or friend. They provide a variety of activities from regular coffee mornings, exercise classes, pub lunches and other events. Once again a group of us met for one of our very enjoyable Saturday sewing sessions organised by Alison. This time she set us a little challenge of making a 'Fidget Quilt' for dementia suffers. The results were quite varied and finished items will be going on to homes where they will be used. Those of us who didn't make the little quilts bought along a variety of projects they were working on from putting the binding on larger quilts and making blocks for new quilts for charity. 

Thanks went again to Alison for organising the day, providing the tea, coffee and cake and the ideas for the challenge!

A busy sewing day, just right to start a new year of projects. The time we had quilt tops, cushion covers and one of our group even started on her Xmas decorations for this year!

Sarah managed to complete this baby quilt on Saturday, others being work in progress will be added to our show-n-tell page once they are complete.
